For those who want a full design and build experience, we collaborate closely with our construction partner, Millard’s Build Limited, bringing every element of the design together as a single, coordinated project.

  • What makes your design-and-build service different?

    We are a design-led architectural studio. For clients who would like us to deliver the build as well, we collaborate with our trusted construction partner, Millard’s Build Limited.

    The two companies are technically separate, but work closely together to ensure our designs are delivered to the highest standards.

  • Do you use subcontractors?

    Our design studio works alongside our long-standing build partner, Millard’s Build Limited. Although separate, the teams collaborate closely on every project, following shared standards rather than assembling temporary crews.

  • Why is design still important if everything is built in-house?

    Design resolves layout, structure, materials and detailing before work starts on site. Our designers and builders work together from the outset to ensure designs are practical, efficient and build‑ready, reducing risk and improving quality.

  • Can you design and build the house and garden at the same time?

    Yes. This is one of our core strengths. Designing and delivering the home and garden together allows levels, drainage, access, materials and finishes to be fully coordinated for a cohesive final result.

  • How accurate are your costs at the quoting stage?

    Our costs are based on real build knowledge, not assumptions. Because we employ our own teams, pricing reflects how the project will actually be delivered, significantly reducing variations during construction.

  • Will I have one point of contact throughout?

    Yes. Each project is led by a dedicated project manager who oversees both the design and construction phases, ensuring clear communication and accountability throughout.

  • Do you manage planning permission and building regulations?

    Absolutely! We advise on and manage all required planning and building control processes as part of our service, ensuring designs are compliant before work begins.

  • What happens if I want to make changes during the project?

    Changes are handled in a structured and transparent way. We assess cost and programme implications and proceed only with your written approval.

  • How long do design-and-build projects usually take?

    Timescales vary depending on size, complexity and approvals. Because we control the workforce internally, we can programme projects realistically and maintain momentum on site.

  • Why choose a design-and-build company instead of separate consultants and builders?

    By working closely with our build partner, Millard’s Build Limited, we ensure that our designs are delivered seamlessly. Coordination from design through delivery leads to better outcomes and a smoother process.

  • How do we start a project with you?

    The first step is an initial consultation / survey to understand your brief, scope and priorities. From there, we outline the most appropriate design and delivery route clearly with a full design proposal. Following approved designs we can quote accordingly within the build budget and then we build.
